Iron Deficiency

iron deficiency may cause the leaves to turn pale green or yellow. The oldest leaves on the leaf edges may yellow and on newer leaves will be completely yellow with only the veins remaining green. This is very common with acid loving plants and trees. A high soil pH can result from lime leached stones and bricks. Regions that have low rainfall and high limestone soils have high pH levels. When iron is lacking in trees the new leaves are yellow.
