Houston's Leading Tree Care Professionals | Specializing in Sick & Diseased Trees
Trees are fertilized in nature by the leaves and droppings on the forest floor which decompose and deliver nutrients to the root systems. In urban settings, the forest floor is replaced by lawns and manicured ground cover. Fallen leaves and grass clippings are removed, eliminating nature's source of tree fertilization. Further, topical applications of fertilizer must pass the turf roots which extract many of the nutrients before they reach the tree roots. Deep root feeding injects liquid fertilizers under high pressure, directly into the tree's root zone at depths up to 18 inches, bypassing the roots of any groundcover.
